New info on Dior's Commercial? The Director's Name?

We usually don't post any rumors but this seems to be some pretty legit information, coming directly from one of the official Cannes' Press kits.

Laura who was kind enough to email us, did some research and found new information about a "soon-to-be-released Dior commercial starring Robert Pattinson".

You can find the exact quote in the Press Kit for the movie 'All is Lost' on page 13.

Peter Zuccarini is listed as "underwater director of photography" in the press kit. On his imdb page, we can find a Dior commerical with Romain Garvas' name attached to it.

It's not much, but it looks like we now know the name of the director who did the commercial: Romain Gavras (he's on twitter - @ROMAIN_GAVRAS)

What's even more exciting and interesting though, is that Rob seems to be a fan of his work. Back in August, during the NYC Cosmopolis promo, Rob mentioned Romain Gavras' name HERE (last video of the post) at 00:28.
Josh Horowitz asked him who he wanted to win for the 'VMA Picks For Video Of The Year'. In case you can't see the video, here's a short transcript:

Josh: "Do you have a favorite among these?
Rob: "I mean, ... I love Romain Gavras who did the M.I.A. video."

Here's the video he mentioned.

He also mentioned Gavras in his interview with Les InRockuptibles
RP: (...) And I saw a bit of the Justice set. I love their videos.
Q: The one directed by Romain Gavras?
RP: Yes, Stress. Another French that rocks.

You can find all of the director's commercials and music videos on his official Vimeo page. His 'Addidas Is All In' commercial definitely showcases his talent. We can't wait!

can't wait can't wait to the commercial release
I wanna see our sexy Rob. Do you guys don't really know when it's gonna be realeased?

Thank you RPL for this very interesting information. So much better than all the nonsense going around lately. I viewed the videos and I can relax a bit to see that Mr. Garvas' work seems to be 100 percent better than that commercial with Brad Pitt for Chanel. I am happy that Rob was able to wok with someone he admires.

Hi twilightnan, LisaCT, nimet, and to all RPL commenters, it looks like soon we will be able to see Rob for Dior and possibly underwater. I feel like belting out the "Pointer's Sisters song "I am so Excited", because that is exactly how I feel about Rob's Dior Commercial.

Thank you for digging... At least we now have actual confirmation that he shot the video. That's progress :-)

I hope it airs soon because it feels like we've been waiting forever. I'm not really a fan of Dior or celeb product spots but I am ALL about this.

I love the Bad Girls video, haven't seen his other work but the director sounds pretty awesome. Here's hoping it won't be overly-sexed. Lawd knows that's not necessary.

wow, thanks for this collection. I never knew about Romain Gavras's works and really didn't knew M.I.A.
Though the 'music' is not my taste - rather is noise for me - liked the picturing, as well with the Adidas too.
And very interesting for me Rob's taste in music, for somebody who learnt classical music. My children never liked the rap, they learned classical guitar and playing piano. For us - the youngest(15) rounding the house with his phone and playing Beethoven, Mozart, Debussy, Prokofjev, Chaikovsky...etc on it.
And his modern music taste is Nightwish, Pink Floyd...

And of course, hi everybody... I always forget to greet you. For me it-1s just like come in one of the room at home :)

finally a new project update. im so glad you posted it. im already so sick with the whole situation these days, media has been so cruel to rob and his life. i really wish he is happy. cant wait for dior :)

twmmy said...

I think not the media is cruel, but the so called fans from both side. I've spent my afternoon on Gossipcop. Shame on us, fans.... We cannot hold us from far away this whole situation, and put Rob and Kristen under the ugly things. Though i never liked Kristen, but that's not right what is going on...
Pffff, sometimes I hate this fandom.

debbie nerissa threet said...

I agree the media has been ruthless, but I've discovered the other day that I must be what they call a "nonnie", because I always thought Robert and Kristen's relationship was fishy :/ since some time around 2010. I definitely don't contribute to the nasty boards and comment sections, but I've always thought it was more of a media plan than a relationship. So, I really don't know what to feel when it comes to Robert's feelings in the situation at this point. I just know that I am a diehard fan in every area of his life but that one, and I want everything in the world that's best for him. I know he's going to live his life and do what he needs to do, so I am content as a fan with that.

twmmy and Debbie nerissa threet, I agree with both of you as far as the nonsense that continues on Rob's personal life. I stopped reading GC's debunking of articles, because I knew they were absurd to begin with so why read it. I wish people would not be so invested in Rob's personal life and focus more on his movie endeavors. That is why I came to RPL because I was fascinated by this young man and the potential he has to really go far. I hope people focus on that instead of his relationship. That is between him and whoever he dates, not us. I think it is funny, I purchased the book Dead Stars based on the screenplay of MTTS and Rob is mentioned already in two chapters. It will be interesting to see what celebrities will be mentioned in the movie and will Rob be one of them. That just tickles my fancy.

debbie nerissa threet said...

@Iluvthemovies Robert is a perfect example for Hollywood phenomenon and media frenzy isn't he, that would be really fitting and hilarious if he was mentioned in MTTS while also playing a character in the movie (I think thats what you meant)! I've never gotten the fixation with a couple thing. Just not my brand of torture! Lol But people being fixated on Robert and Kristen as a couple was pretty much a given, because they played Edward and Bella. I went along with it for a long time, even times when I thought it was fishy (because as you said, what business is it of anyone else?) they made a cute pair, but since July I've really bailed out. Eh. I care about the man.

Iluvthemovies said...

Hey Debbie, thank you for clarifying my comment, that is exactly what I meant to say, Rob is portraying a character, yet he the actor is mentioned in the book. He has reached superstardom at such an expedient rate, I am certain he still unable to comprehend his fast rise to A-lister status. He has that star quality, that few have and I am excited to see him suceed. I enjoyed them as a couple but realistically this is showbiz and it is rare that a couple make it last as long as they made it and for being so young. I wish both of them the best, but whoever they decide to date or stay with is their business and I just want to enjoy his movies. Like you I want to enjoy his career and some other actors or actresses who I predicted would make it big in the film industry before they became established names. Have a lovely evening.

Hi everybody :)
@Iluvthemovies, I lokked after the novel on the internet, but had no time yet to read. I plan to do it on the weekend. How did you like it?
I confess, I lurking on the gossip sites sometimes, when I have time... not only after Rob, but can't help, I'm curious. I don't buy rag-magazines, the last was Bravo-Girls when Rob was in that :)
Sometimes interesting, how the media put on a news-gead, and the story is diametrically opposed with it. It was yesterday, when I read about one of university of us will close a professorship... and the truth is not closing, only realignment. So, the media is doing drama from a serious news, what can we hope from them?

twmmy said...

Wuf, why can't we back and edit our mistakes? lokked=looked

@Iluvthemovies have a wonderful night. :) You're welcome about the comment. I would love to see that in MTTS.

Hi twmmy, I recently purchased the book and I have yet to read the chapter on Jerzy which is Jerome in the movie that will be played by Rob. However, it is fascinating if not a bit over the top about instant and reality stardom. Yet there is truth in it, it just seems a bit depressing on the subject of fame. I am currently enjoying a chapter on Michael Douglas. This almost reads like nonfiction. I recommend it, if you have not read the screenplay. I have also yet to discover how this is going to be translated into a ghost story. I should finish the book by this weekend.

@iluvthemovies .... I'm intrigued, think I'm going to get this book. Thanks.

Rob underwater, will we ever get to see it.....

New to this board :-) I'm with you, Debbie100%! And no, don't comment on GossipCop unless you want to be immediately attacked by someone who doesn't agree! Very nasty!

twmmy said...

new day, new hello to everybody.

@Iluvthemovies, the book seems interesting. No, I haven't read the screenplay. Do xou have that? Would you send me if you had? Yesterday i realized, I downloaded only one chapter :)... I hope, I'll find the whole book :)

Iluvthemovies said...

Hi twmmy, no I unfortunately do not have the screenplay. Perhaps one of the other commenters know where you can find it. I hope you are able to locate the other chapters. I downloaded the book onto my tablet from amazon kindle. I finally have read the chapter that introduces Jerome and I thought Eric Packer was a deviant savant, Jerome makes Eric look like a kitten. Enjoy.

@No one special, it is truly bizarre but it is so true on many of the themes written on the page. If you liked Cosmopolis, you will enjoy this and if it becomes to disturbing at least it namedrops so many celebrities of today, it is incredible the wealth of knowledge this writer has on the world of celebrity.

Hi to all on RPLife...Iluvthemovies,Lisa,Haxy,nimet &Twilola...Wow!these are great videos by Garvas...I bet Rob's Dior Ads would be Fabulous!!!with regards to Rob's personal life..I don't normally like to be the person to start commenting about his personal life, but since some had already done so on this thread...well...I might as well express MOPV...nobody knows what's going on..only Rob and Kristen it's their relationship...if they have broken up it's a shame:(..and I will be very sad:-(...IMHO Rob&Kristen love is REAL...I don't believe it's manufactured or that it's a lie... I am still hoping for a happy ending :-)lol!

LisaCT said...

Hi and big hugs twilightnan. I've certainly missed you. Have stayed away for a bit. Spending a little more time on RD these days as you may have seen. Let me just say I am in total agreement with all you say. Keeping the faith. I miss seeing Rob. July right around the corner...hard as that is to believe and I am sure he's preparing for MTTS. Hope we see him soon.

@nimet...big hugs and hope your hubby is doing well. Please let us know.

Hi to iluvthemovi es, Haxy, Mayfair and anyone else I missed.

Iluvthemovies said...

Hi twilghtnan and LisaCT, I hope you are both well. I am still reading Dead Stars, this is going to be one crazy and controversial movie, but that is what you can expect from vintage DC. Forget Eric Packer, this may be a smaller role but it will certainly not be forgotten and may be spoken about for a very long time.

Hoping we hear something soon as to when Dior will release their commercial. I hope the executives like it or perhaps it went to far, however if it is only viewed in France it may hold up to the scrutiny of being to sexual in nature.

LisaCT said...

@iluvthemovies...do you recommend Dead Stars? Looking for a new read. That was a download? Wonder if I can get it on my Nook? Also do you think they aren't going to release Dioy ads here at all? The ads sounded pretty racey. Hoping we get to some version of it here in the States.

Iluvthemovies said...

Hi Lisa,
Maybe we will receive a watered down version of the ad. I hope someone will be able to youtube it or to click on some website internationally that is showing the ad. I think Dior knows how much people in the states are longing to see Rob in this ad.

Dead Stars is very risqué. It is way over the top. 50 Shades of Gray was erotic, mommy porn, but this is all kind of stop mixed in, things dealing with children and how the paparazzi work on getting some shots. It is not for the faint of heart, but it does give commentary about our fixation with celebrity and what fame can bring to you if you want it bad enough. As I said Eric Packer is a pussycat compared to some of the shady characters in this book. However, some of it is very funny and as I said before this man is namedropping every conceivable young and not so young celebrity of today and that includes Robert and Kristen. It is interesting just to get it for that alone. I am certain you can get it on your Nook, that is Barnes and Noble, correct? I am certain you can download it on the Nook. Enjoy if you do purchase it.
