Rob To Receive New Hollywood Award at Deauville Film Festival + New Still of Rob as Dennis Stock

The official Twitter account of the Deauville Film Festival just tweeted the best news from the festival's press conference: Rob will receive the New Hollywood Award. Congrats!
And they also treated us with a great new still of Rob as Dennis Stock :)

@DeauvilleUS: [HOMMAGE] #RobertPattinson sera présent pour recevoir Le Nouvel Hollywood #Deauville2015

We are waiting for more information on dates and confirmation that Rob will attend. A few weeks ago we made a post about the Life premiere at the Festival on September 5 (the same day as The Childhood of a Leader premiere at Venice Film Festival) but we will see :)

ETA: According to the French press Rob will attend the Festival

This is very prestigious, they don't give out this award every year, so it's extra special. ... "the "The New Hollywood" Prize pays tribute to the talent, passion and commitment of actors and actresses on the path of creation. With this award, the Festival wishes to honor the future by welcoming an actress and an actor, jewels of the American cinema of tomorrow."

It's wonderful to see the work Rob has been doing with artistic directors like Cronnberg, Michod, Corbijn and Gray recognized like this. Anyone who is "concerned" about his career choices should take this as a sign that he's on the right path and knows exactly what he's doing in order to be successful on his own terms.

Congratulations to Rob! Can't wait for the upcoming festivals and interviews!

Thank you for this information. I knew nothing about this award & what it represented. It's great that Rob is being recognized for his choices and talent. Makes me
"especially" proud for him & I continue to wish him the best in his career.

this is so amazing! he can be proud of himself and i think he really deserves it. a lot of actors play the same roles and characters all the time because they know that they are good in that one character so they stick to it and wait for awards. but rob doesn't do that. he got amazing reviews for rey in the rover so he could just continue to play that character over and over again and wait for award recognition but that is not what he does. he continues to take completely different roles which is not the easy way at all. i think he is brave and always willing to learn and grow as an actor. so to me he deserves this award. oh and i also love lizzy olsen i think she is incredible talanted.

So many wonderful and well deserved comments about our intelligent, creative and talented actor adding all this to him being an amazing human being. Wishing you all the very best Rob.

andrea, great comment. I like Elizabeth Olsen also. She has a movie coming out in the middle of Sept. about a plane full of people who want to help save the rain forest and it crashes into an unknown tribe. Those that did not die from the crash were captured by this tribe and some of the things done to them, well, it look to be really frightening. This is a relatively new award, right? Rob has so many great things going on, love being his fan.

I love this award but he is also walking the red carpet at the Venice Film fest....did I miss the notice of that on here....quite the honor in itself!

This is not an annual award, which makes it extra special. They've given it before, a few years ago, to Ryan Gosling and Jessica Chastian, so Rob and Elizbeth will be in good company.

I think it was announced some time ago that Rob would be at the Venice Film Festival. I think TCOAL screens in the afternoon on the 5th, and Rob will probably do some interviews while he's there, as well as walk the red carpet. I'm sure all the connections he makes at these festivals will serve him well in the future.

Speaking of connections, the director Terrence Malick will be at Deauville as one of the Tributes. It would be wonderful if Rob could work with him in the future. Badlands, Days of Heaven, The New World.

as you say Marilyn....these connections made at all the festivals are so important to an actor...here's hoping Rob makes some good ones...I feel sure he will
