It's Official: Twilight's been nominated for the People's Choice Awards

It's official: Vampires are the new cool or, at least, the people's choice. The pop-culture juggernaut that is "Twilight" picked up six nominations this morning for the 2010 People's Choice Awards, including favorite movie, favorite franchise, and the on-screen team of leads Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.

The trio also received individual acting nods, with Pattinson and Stewart nominated for movie actor and movie actress and Lautner for breakout movie actor.

Vampires also ruled the roost on the small screen, with HBO's camp treasure "True Blood" taking noms for TV obsession and TV sci-fi/fantasy. Star Anna Paquin also was nominated for TV drama actress. The 2010 People's Choice Awards will be broadcast live Jan. 6 on CBS.

The list of nominees, announced today in Beverly Hills at the SLS Hotel, are after the jump.

FOR THE RECORD: An earlier version of this post incorrectly said the nominations were announced in downtown Los Angeles at the Nokia Center.
