Green Day's, Billy Joe Armstrong likes Robert Pattinson for ‘American Idiot’ lead

According to VH1′s Pop-Up Video for Green Day’s song “21 Guns,” Billy Joe Armstrong said that Rob is his first choice to play the lead in the movie version of their Broadway musical American Idiot.

  1. I love Rob. I really do. But the role of Johnny is NOT for him. I've seen the musical 7 times and John Gallagher Jr. should be the ONLY one to have that role and if not him then Van Hughes. Rob's voice wouldn't fit the part and to be honest, I don't think he would fit the part. I hope they hire the original Broadway cast to reprise their roles for the movie!

  5. We all have our perceptions of who should play a part and lets face it, when Rob was first cast as Edward Cullen, many petitioned the studio not to cast Rob in the part. I think it would be wonderful to have Rob stretch his wings and be challenged, just like in Cosmopolis in order for him to break the Edward Cullen typecasting. I would definitely see the movie, I enjoy Green Day's music and I hope to see the play when it plays in Los Angeles, but I would also see the movie just to watch Rob sing his handsome heart out.

  6. Hi there Yaelfica and Iluvthemovies...I don't know this guy and his music..but I'm like you Iluvthemovies I would go and see the movies to see ROB and I'm sure many of ROB's fans would do so...it would be fantastic to see Rob sing and either play a guitar or play the piano:)..hugs to all:)
