Vanity Fair

LMAO! he was interviewed on an Irish show and asked about working with him. The interviewer said ‘they just love this guy, he’s like a one man Beatles’! Colm said girls were waiting outside the set all the time and was particularly taken aback when they were filming in the middle of nowhere in Budapest and 3 middle aged women stayed outside in miserable weather 24/7 to see him.

- The studio in fact brought Rob, Reese and Christoph out to convice them to do the movie.
- Rob fell in love with Tai after doing loads of tricks with her and seeing how intelligent she is. #TaiPattz anyone? He was all over her, thrilled to be in her presence. After the meeting when he was driving back to LA, he was calling people telling them how excited he was meeting her and doing the movie.
- Reese loved Tai. They have a routine together in the movie, so she trained with Tai for countless hours over many weeks.
- Christoph brought his whole family to meet Tai.
- Everyone was a sweetheart and all were genuinely nice and very respectful of Tai.
- Tai would recognize Rob and Reese because they spent so much time together on the set.
- Tai would spend days at a time out on set to make it easy on her.
Rosie (the real one!) is also in WFE! She has a bit part in the “modern circus” scene.
- Reese and Tai did a Vogue magazine shoot – not sure when it hits stands but probably March or April edition.
"Did you know elephants purr? It's completely scary if you don't know what it is. They purr like cats, but their heads are so deep they sound like velociraptors. You feel it in the ground under your feet. So this big female started sniffing my foot—big female elephant, that is. She sniffed it so hard it came up off the pavement like her trunk was a vacuum cleaner. Then she took my entire body in her mouth. I was holding on to her head, and as I slowly let go she tightened her grip really carefully until I'm just upside down in her mouth and she's going through my pockets with her trunk, looking for peppermints. It was the best day of my life."
So you gave up control to an elephant, got groped, mugged, had your candy tugged at—and it was glorious?
"Yeah. So beautiful you can't imagine. And the baby elephant was so excited that it sprinted out and did its routine in five seconds and then curtsied to everybody. It was actually laughing. Brilliant. Did you know they can also do imitations of other animals? A horse, a chicken, a monkey—these elephants could, anyway. They were movie elephants. One had written a screenplay, and one really wants to direct."
He laughs. He was in Los Angeles, in discussions to star with Sean Penn in Water for Elephants, an adaptation of Sara Gruen's novel. The elephants are actors like him, and he wonders if he might, on some cosmic level, be a bit like them.
"Do you know how they die? The elephant guy told me their molars get ground down from eating wood but regenerate like six times. And after that they slowly starve to death. Which is poignant, but that must also be what gives them time to get to the elephant graveyard. They're incredibly designed creatures. I mean, people hang on way too fucking long. If I knew that when my teeth fell out, that was it . . . Wow. The best day of my life. Beautiful, beautiful day."

JACOBS: How close were you to getting the role of Edward Cullen in Twilight?
FERNANDEZ: You’ll have to ask Catherine. It appears that I was closer than I maybe remember. I did have a screen test and signed contracts and all that. But the thing that came out of it, whether I was second runner-up or not, was that Catherine and I liked each other, and she was gracious enough to keep me in mind for other things. I really don’t know how close I was to getting the part in Twilight. Did I want the part? I did. But I don’t think I was right or ready for it. And I don’t think anybody knew that it was going to be what it’s turned out to be. When Riding Hood came along, I thought it was a much better fit.
JACOBS: Is it strange to consider Robert Pattinson’s life? How that madness could have been yours?
FERNANDEZ: I don’t think it ever could have been mine. I think it would have been really, really bad for me. He seems like a really neat guy who’s handled himself amazingly well. I’m very grateful at this point that I didn’t get it. I remember when my agent called to tell me I didn’t get it. And then the next day I had an audition for something else. [laughs] When it came out, I was doing a movie with Ashley Greene, who’s in Twilight, and we went to the movies and watched it. It is a funny experience but I can’t say that it was one of the movies I was heartbroken over not getting.

“I don’t know why but all Robert Pattinson interviews start with a description on how he is dressed. My interview, however, has not yet been written: it will be ready in Italy when his new movie is released, the one after “Twilight”. I mean ” Water for Elephants”; probably in May. But what I do know is that I will do something different, I won’t say anything about how he was dressed.
I also know that in Pattinson’s case, even the smallest details can’t be ignored, as millions of women worldwide, from 9 years old, would sacrifice more than a broken a nail just to get their hands on the smallest piece of information on him. Therefore here’s a detailed account of Pattinson’s look. The location: a second floor suite at the Four Seasons hotel in Los Angeles. The time: 3:30 in the afternoon and although it is not his first interview of the day, it seems like he just got out of bed.
Finally he arrives: He pours himself a cup of coffee, “I need to wake up”, he apologizes. And, indeed, he has the sleepy face, but his eyes are incredibly clear. Then he sits down and puts his feet near the coffee table in front of the chair. He’s wearing a pair of black jeans, quite narrow at the bottom, he moves back on bended knees exposing bare skin between his short socks (which are also black) and the edge of his trousers. He has white skin and dark hair that is sparse. Oh his feet: a pair of Dr. Martens, ça va sans dire, black. His outfit is completed with a T-shirt and a jacket that I would say are vintage. The hair on his neck is shaved, with a little bit visible at the front , his skin is clear and smooth. And his lips: I swear, the reddest I’ve ever seen on a man…”

The information has not yet been officially confirmed but several sources have circulated the info: Robert Pattinson should be present in Paris in April. He would come to promote his new film “Water for Elephants,” in which he gives in particular the response to Reese Witherspoon. In any case, what we do know is that the actor will be shooting in Vancouver until April 15. His arrival in France would be likely in late April … Play-Academy is sure to keep you informed as soon as things become clearer. For fans of Robert Pattinson and Twilight , do not miss out of all the secrets of the Twilight Saga: The Official Guide illustrated that will appear on April 13!
Your 2011 Books-Into-Films Lineup, From ‘Eyre’ To ‘Water’ To ‘Desert’Water For Elephants (April 22)
The Book: A runaway bestseller, Sara Gruen’s historical novel centers on circus worker Jacob Jankowski and the eclectic cast of characters working for The Benzini Brothers’ Most Spectacular Show on Earth. Gruen wrote the novel in a month, apparently, basing the core of the book on the story of Jacob from the Book of Genesis. The paperback edition hit #1 on the New York Times bestseller list in 2007.
The Film: Combine one-part Reese Witherspoon and one-part Robert Pattinson, and a couple of pachyderms, and you may have Pattinson’s most successful book-to-screen outing that isn’t Twilight. Bonus: Fewer screaming girls to contend with. Trailer here.
See It With: Circus folk. You know some, right?
ETA: More details via Ryan Seacrest - Audio at the sourceAfter releasing, via a Twitter video, that there will be a surprise for all the Twihards out there, Bruce furthered “Robert, Taylor, and Kristen will not be on the show but, the next best thing is going to happen and it will blow people minds.” Although Cohen wouldn’t reveal the surprise, he did let on what it is not, including it’s “not a live element at all…not technically CGI…and not the trailer for ‘Breaking Dawn.’”
“For all Twilight fans we have a surprise in the show on Sunday night, if you like the three movies, I have three words for you … Check out the show”
One of the co-hosts for the event is James Franco, who, you might recall, is an outspoken Twilight enthusiast. There's even a connection between his post as host and his former interest in portraying a Breaking Dawn character. It should be interesting to see what they drum up for this! (Note that Bruce Cohen is the same guy who brought Franco on board for the job.)

Robert Pattinson poses with an alligator on the April 2011 cover of Vanity Fair, Gossip Cop is told.
Legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz shot pics of the superstar for the mag’s cover story, which is tied to the release of Pattinson’s upcoming film Water for Elephants.
As for the four-foot reptile, Pattinson’s alligator pal is a nod to the Louisiana set of Breaking Dawn.
In the profile, sources tell Gossip Cop, Pattinson does not discuss his relationship with Kristen Stewart.
Mostly, we hear that Pattinson comes across as a genuinely good guy and reluctant star.
Vanity Fair will be on newsstands on March 3
